Strong and Vital No 2
The Project MILAN LONGEVITY SUMMIT Demographics show that the world is ageing, birth rates are falling while life expectancy is rising. In 2050, more than two billion people will be over 60 years old. Of these, more than two thirds will live in large urban areas. Public actors must be far-sighted, promote health preventively and not react exclusively to health emergencies. According to the world ’ s latest scientific findings, it is possible to extend life expectancy. By organising this unique two-week international scientific summit, Milan has shown how to lead the way. We are indeed facing a revolution in the future of humanity and social organisation, affecting all aspects of life. The baby boomers are a population group that already has the greatest economic power. Public and private investors, billionaires in search of the source of eternal life, private limited companies, start-ups, companies from all sectors, from Big Pharma to manufacturers of food supplements, cosmetics, adverti sing, real estate, medical and paramedical fields and the leisure industry: They are all competing for the interest of baby boomers, who have entered the third and fourth age en masse, blessed with longer life expectancy and fairly solid economic opportunities thanks to the economic boom they have enjoyed, and among other things, they may not have children and/or parents to care for.
Behind the MILAN LONGEVITY SUMMIT project is Viviana Kasam , journalist, specialised in sci ence, founder of both non-profit organisations:
www.braincircleitalia.it and www.braincirclelugano.ch
With the MILAN LONGEVITY SUMMIT, Viviana Kasam organised a FREE event that gave visi tors the opportunity to learn about the ageing process and the associated dynamics.
She deserves great thanks and respect for this.
