(Photo 3) Unfortunately, twins Florian and Karl Schmitt had to honour a previous com mitment at Ratiopharm who wants to film them for an advertisement. At the world championships in Kiev during September however, they are certain to be present and, once again, it will be Ivan Bucher against the “Schmitt twins” from Germany and the rest of the world! The referee team, under the manage ment of chief referee Adrian Wild, Switzerland, had relaxed the dress code somewhat, because of the high tempera tures. Andrea Stanecker (Germany), Dario Karamatic (Croatia), Donna Danton (USA) and Dr. Eva Kozlova (Czech Republic), photo 4 , jugded strictly but fairly, placing the highest priority on the correct execution of the exercises. Thanks to the excellent coop eration amongst the judges and their five assistants – trainees from Park-Studio, photo 5 , the competition went smoothly and quickly. The competition was excit ing for spectators and competitors alike. In the evening the whole STRENFLEX crew was invited by Park-Studio to a reception and “Award Dinner” at which managing director Markus Meisel once again congratulated the European champions on their successes. There was, of course, a happy atmosphere at Park-Studio too – no one had expected a vice-European champion and a third place in the European championships to come from their ranks. The STRENFLEX organisers together with the competitors and referees once again wish to convey their thanks for the friendly welcome and for the sup port of Park-Studio in St. Pölten. “We had absolutely everything we needed and our stay was an extremely pleasant experience. We’ll be back – for sure!
